Brad Arnold | owner / Managing Principal
After 12 years in the environmental consulting industry, Mr. Arnold started SOLA Environmental in November 2019 as a boutique environmental consulting firm focused on providing strategic air quality and environmental consulting services. SOLA focuses on a variety of industries, including iron and steel, liquefied natural gas, petroleum refining, chemicals manufacturing and storage, power generation, and carbon black manufacturing. Mr. Arnold has managed large, medium-sized, and small projects delivering client-focused solutions through technical knowledge, innovation, and expert project management. Mr. Arnold's experience includes:
- Air permitting and compliance support
- Supporting large audit programs
- Providing detailed regulatory analysis
- Air dispersion modeling
Brad has a B.S. from Auburn University in Chemical Engineering.
KAYLYN Burmaster | Principal
Kaylyn has more than 10 years of experience in air permitting and regulatory compliance support with an emphasis on industrial facilities and capital project planning. She has supported a variety of industries including various phases of the oil and gas supply chain, liquified natural gas, power generation, chemicals manufacturing and storage, steel manufacturing, and data centers. Ms. Burmaster's experience includes:
- Preparation of Title V and New Source Review air permit applications
- Environmental risk analysis
- Site-selection support
- Capital projects management
- Interfacing with agencies
- Development of compliance tools and reports
- Conducting compliance audits
Kaylyn has a B.S. from Louisiana State University in Chemical Engineering.
Lauren Pulley, PE | Senior Engineer
Ms. Pulley has 15 years of experience in providing environmental, health, and safety consulting services. She specializes in air quality matters and air pollution controls. Ms. Pulley's experience includes:
- Overseeing and coordinating the establishment of EHS compliance and management system programs to capture record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting requirements and to ensure sites are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Regulatory compliance support

Lauren has a B.E. from Vanderbilt University in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
Mariah Martinez | Project Engineer
Mariah comes to SOLA Environmental with more than 7 years of experience in air permitting and regulatory compliance support. She has supported a variety of industries, including manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical. Mariah's experience includes:
- Preparation of non-Title V, Title V, New Source Review, and PAL air permit applications
- Air, Stormwater, Wastewater, and Hazardous Waste regulatory analysis and compliance
- Conducting compliance audits
- Communication with regulatory agencies
- Tier II and TRI reporting
- Industrial hygiene sampling
Mariah has a B.S. from Tennessee Technological University in Chemical Engineering.
Hannah Hawkes | Project Engineer
Hannah has over 7 years of experience in environmental consulting and manufacturing. She has developed water compliance programs and ISO programs for startups. She specializes in chemical reporting and developing SWPPP and SPCC plans. Ms. Hawkes' experience includes:
- Tier II/TRI/TSCA Reporting
- Water Compliance Programs
- Regulatory Compliance Support
- Environmental Consulting
Hannah has an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Rochester.
Blake Stratton | Associate Engineer
Mr. Stratton has been with SOLA for over two years, with a skill set that includes:
- Air Dispersion Modeling
- Regulatory compliance support
- Preparation of non-Title V, Title V, and New Source Review air permit applications
- Environmental Permitting
Blake has a M.S. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Biosystems Engineering from Auburn University.
Kristen Guess | Staff Engineer
Kristen's skill set includes:
- Preparation of non-Title V, Title V, and New Source Review.
- Air regulatory analysis and compliance
- SWPPP and SPCC preparation
- TRI Reporting
Ms. Guess holds an M.S. and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Ronald vriesman | technical director
Mr. Vriesman has over 40 years of experience. His extensive skillset includes multi-media environmental permitting, development of performance standards, continuous improvement, waste minimization, and sustainability programs. Mr. Vriesman's experience includes:

- Environmental auditing
- Occupational safety
- Management systems
Ron has an M.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Environmental Engineering and a B.S. from Michigan Technological University in Civil Engineering.
